PLVC Almuni Night – August 6

Pretty Lake Vacation Camp is organizing and mobilizing all of our former campers, staff and board members, and volunteers of Pretty Lake Vacation Camp! PLVC turned 95 this year, and we are already planning for our 100 year celebration in 2016! Our alumni are a huge part of the celebration and we want to find as many as we can.

Kalamazoo Mayor Bobby J. Hopewell, a current PLVC Board Member who has either worked or volunteered at PLVC for over 30 years, has agreed to chair our Camp Alumni Committee. Bobby is very excited about this initiative and reconnecting with PLVC’s great history!

Our first get together for our alumni will be on Saturday, August 6th at 6:45pm. We invite you to come out to camp, bring your memories and pictures, and begin the process of reconnecting with former campers and staff. We will have refreshments and social time together, take a few pictures, and Bobby will talk about the Alumni effort.

Please call Mitch at Pretty Lake at 269.375.1950 x111 or e-mail to RSVP. You can also RSVP on our Facebook event page.

What to expect

At 7:30, campers will start gathering for our weekly “Day 4” carnival, complete with fortune telling, cotton candy, sno-cones and fun games to play. You’ll be able to interact with our current campers and staff members! It is “Western” week at camp, so feel free to wear your cowboy boots and 10 gallon hat!

You may even get to meet one of our oldest campers, Lance Ferarro, who was a camper back in the late 20’s and early 30’s! Hopefully you will reconnect with some faces from your past!

We also want you to encourage anyone else you know to come out as well. So forward this email to others you know, and go recruit and help us find our cool Pretty Lake Alums!

Just as a reminder, an alum is one that was a camper, a staffer or a volunteer for Pretty Lake, so help us find them, use your Facebook and Twitter.
