Pretty Lake Welcomes New Adventure Centre Co-Director


Michelle Ringle-Barrett is curious, adventurous, and growth-minded. This is why Pretty Lake is the perfect fit and has been for the past decade as she has worked with groups of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds as a facilitator at the Pretty Lake Adventure Centre. Coming from an English education background, Michelle immediately saw the benefits of mindful, intentional social and emotional learning, as facilitated at Pretty Lake, and has worked to incorporate as much of this knowledge into her classroom teaching as a professor of English, the Academically Talented Youth Program, and the Lee Honors College at Western Michigan University. Michelle believes in the power of the lived-experience and works to provide quality educational environments that life up all voices. Michelle is a poet and writer, lover of nature, passionate social justice activist, member of the Board of Directors for Great Lakes Peace JamĀ and proud mother, wife, sister and daughter. Michelle is ever working to intertwine per passions to create dynamic experiences for students, teachers, and especially for the underrepresented.
