Applying for camp
Camper Eligibility
To be eligible to attend Pretty Lake Camp in 2026, prospective campers must meet the following criteria.
- Between the ages of 8 (after completing 3rd grade) and 15 (before starting 10th grade) at the time that they attend camp
- Resident of Kalamazoo County, or attending school in Kalamazoo County or Mattawan School District
Member of a household facing barriers—financial, social, emotional, environmental, or other—that would make attending a summer camp program difficult without additional support.
Independent in their self-care skills: able to take a shower, get dressed, eat meals independently, etc. (Counselors will provide guidance and reminders to campers, but the campers must be able to complete these activities by themselves.
- Able to successfully engage socially and behaviorally in a group with one staff member and eight campers. At this time, we are unable to provide one-on-one behavioral support for our campers.
Decisions about eligibility are never based on race, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, weight, ability, or any other legally protected status.
We may not be able to accomodate every eligible camper who applies.
how do i apply for my child to attend camp?
Summer Camp Applications are now available!
If you’re a previous Pretty Lake Camp family – sign in using your previous login information.
If you’re a new camper family – create a new account.
Once you have logged in, you will be walked through the camper application process.

My child has applied for camp. Now what?
By May, we will contact each family that has registered a child for camp to inform them whether their child has been accepted and to invite the child to a particular camp session.
We will detail the amazing camp experience your camper will have during their session, including all the information you (and they) will need to prepare for camp.
Your child’s camp session will be completely outlined, from start and end dates, to drop off and pick location details.

Our Summer Camp Staff
Jenn (she/her) is our Summer Camp Director, at Pretty Lake Camp. With 15 years of experience in the summer camp industry, Jenn brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for creating unforgettable camp experiences. She joined the Pretty Lake team in 2024 as our Assistant Camp Director and quickly became an integral part of our team.
As the Summer Camp Director, Jenn is the mastermind behind coordinating every aspect of our summer camp program, ensuring that everything runs smoothly from start to finish. Her dedication to creating a fun, safe, and enriching environment is key to making camp a place where campers can learn, grow, and have the time of their lives. From planning exciting activities to managing staff, Jenn makes sure our campers have an amazing experience.
Originally from California, Jenn is a proud Dodgers fan—Go Dodgers! When she’s not at camp, you’ll find her baking up delicious treats, decorating cookies, or spending time with her family. Jenn is also an avid traveler, always ready to explore new places and cultures. We’re so lucky to have Jenn bring her passion, expertise, and positive energy to Pretty Lake Camp!
